Migrant Democracy Project exists for migrants at home in the UK who want to shape a collective future rooted in social justice, reflecting our needs and interests, through community power building.
Our Approach
Migrant Democracy Project is building migrant power in the UK. Migrants’ interests and needs in the UK are at best ignored, and at worst actively undermined by the political system. Politicians rarely see first-generation migrants as a powerful voting bloc for whom progressive policy should actively be catered to. Consequently, migrants in the UK have been suffering the consequences of an unjust system with the hostile environment affecting every aspect of their lives in the UK.
We don't just want to ask for a fair future. We demand it!
Migrant Democracy Project believes in the power of democracy and the vote. We want migrants across the UK to be able to leverage their vote for a just immigration system.
Our Work

We register eligible migrants to vote and inform communities about UK politics and their democratic rights.

We are campaigning for the right to vote to be extended to all residents, regardless of where they were born.

Through our MPower Programmes we are getting migrants elected to bring our lived experience to politics and better represent our communities.
