MDP West Midlands: Our Home Our Vote social!
Following our West Midlands chapter launch in April, we are excited to get together on 10th October for our Our Home Our Vote social, with games, poetry, and an exclusive showing of the new short documentary on Migrant Democracy Project. The afternoon will be an opportunity for the community to get to know each other and decide how we want to work together on the migrant vote going forward.
MDP North of Ireland: Spinning Your Story
To prepare for our visit to Stormont in November, our chapter leader Nina is running a storytelling session on 24th Oct ‘Spinning Your Story’. Here you’ll learn how to speak to your representatives, deliver your personal message, and build community alongside the North of Ireland chapter!
Migrant Democracy Project goes to Stormont!
74,000 people in Northern Ireland cannot vote in British parliamentary elections, and 12,329 people cannot vote in local elections in Northern Ireland. We want Stormont to pass a motion in favour of Votes for All to demonstrate that the North of Ireland, like its Scottish and Welsh counterparts, demands an equal democracy. At the event, we will be inviting and asking our MLAs for their support for this motion.

On 2nd May, to mark the launch of our Belfast chapter, MDP is delivering an interactive workshop at Olive Tree House in collaboration with Politics in Action, all about building community power, understanding UK political systems and voting rights, and campaigning for everyone, no matter where they come from, to have the right to vote, with an exciting opportunity at the end.
