Tell Andy Burnham the National Commission on Electoral Reform must also review who can vote!

This week at the Labour Party Conference, Andy Burnham announced his National Commission on Electoral Reform.

He stated that he wanted to see a change in our electoral system "so that everyone's vote counts and everyone's voice is heard.”

This Commission is the result of a long campaign from civil society and MPs advocating for a more proportional voting system in the UK. It is a great step forward. But!

We need to make sure that the Commission includes not only how votes are counted, but also WHO CAN VOTE.

If everyone's voice must be heard, does that not include the 4 million of us without full voting rights, who are also affected by every policy decision our government makes?

It should not be one rule for some, and another rule for another. Equal access to democracy means that your ability to have your say is not dependent on the country you were born in.

Burnham states he wants the UK to be frontrunner. He wants more power for communities to shape decisions in their local areas. Votes for All can achieve these goals.
